Day 2: To Bwindi
A full day on the road to Bwindi through the hills of southern Uganda, crossing the equator and stopping at the Igongo cultural center.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking, then Lake Bunyonyi
After an early briefing at the visitor center, trek with rangers to a habituated family. Each family may be visited by no more than eight people a day, and you have one hour with them. Afterward, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for an evening boat ride.
Day 4: To Queen Elizabeth via Ishasha
Drive north into Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha sector, where lions often rest in fig trees in the afternoon. Continue to the northern part of the park for the night.
Day 5: Kasenyi game drive and Kazinga Channel
A morning game drive on the Kasenyi plains for buffalo, elephants, lions, kob and hyenas, with views over the crater lakes. In the afternoon, take a launch trip on the Kazinga Channel, which links Lake Edward and Lake George.
Day 6: Chimpanzees in Kalinzu, then Fort Portal
Track chimpanzees in Kalinzu Forest on the edge of Queen Elizabeth, then drive through terraced hills to Fort Portal.
Day 7: To Murchison Falls National Park
Drive north through the Albertine Rift to Murchison Falls, with lunch on the way.
Day 8: Game drive and Nile boat trip
A morning game drive on the northern bank for elephants, lions, giraffes, Jackson's hartebeest and Uganda kob. In the afternoon, a boat trip on the Victoria Nile toward the falls passes hippos, crocodiles and animals coming to drink.
Day 9: Rhino tracking at Ziwa and return
